Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has signed the state’s 2025 budget, which he tagged Budget of Building Your Future into law.

The Governor initially proposed the sum of six hundred and eighty-two point two billion Naira for the 2025 fiscal year, it was however increased by ten billion Naira after a review by the state House of Assembly, bringing the total to six hundred and ninety-two point two billion.

The proposal was presented by the governor on November 25, 2024.

Speaking during the signing ceremony held at the Government House, Katsina, Radda commended the assembly for its dedication to ensuring the passage of the budget which he said was designed to drive developmental initiatives in the coming year.

The governor noted that the shift underscores his administration’s focus on infrastructural development, education, and agriculture.

Earlier, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Nasir Daura, described the budget as the result of a thorough legislative process.

He revealed that the additional ten billion was uncovered during budget defense sessions with Ministries Departments and Agencies, which lead to the increase in the final appropriation.
