Comrade Ahmed explained that the strike was suspended following the intervention of the Bauchi State House of Assembly and other prominent stakeholders.
The suspension, effective from January 9 to February 5, 2025, is aimed at providing a platform for further negotiations to address the unresolved issues that led to the industrial action.
He stressed that the suspension is conditional, warning against any form of victimization of union members by institutional heads or government agencies for participating in the strike.
The union remains resolute in taking further steps if its demands are not met within the stipulated timeframe.
JAC urged its members to resume work on Thursday, January 9, 2025, while reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the welfare and interests of staff across Bauchi State’s tertiary institutions.
