The Alternative National Opposition Movement, a non governmental organization has urged Nigerians to always exercise their civic responsibility of coming out to vote during election period.
The National Convener of the group, Otumba Segun Showunmi made the red today in an Eagle Radio special Live Program.
Otumba Segun recalled that in 2023, only eight million registered voters voted in the presidential election out of high number of eligible Nigerians registered by INEC.
He described vote buying and voters apathy as some major challenges bedeviling the progress of Nigerian politics and called on stakeholders to take the address the issue.
Otumba Segun Showunmi said the movement has organized a town hall meeting for the north east in Bauchi where participants from the seven states of the zone participated.
According to him, the meeting was aimed at concentizing the people of the zone on the need to be politically conscious and contributed towards uplifting the status of the country.
He therefore urged Nigerians not to allow party divide to prevent them from doing the needful for the country.
The National Convener commended Governor Bala Muhammad for his contributions to the successful conduct of the zonal meeting and for his infrastructural development in the state.
