The Bauchi State Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a total of 415 drug suspects in the year 2024.

The drugs confiscated included Cannabis Sativa popularly known as wee-wee and various other drugs from January to December, this year.

This was disclosed by the State Commander of the agency, Ali Aminu in his office while briefing newsmen in the activities of the command in the year 2024.

The State Commander further stated that 70 cases were charged to court, 84 suspects have successfully been prosecuted and 18 pending cases are at Federal High Court, Bauchi, while 137 drug users had been counselled and rehabilitated.

Commander Ali Aminu called on drugs users to stop indulging in illicit use and trafficking of Narcotic and psychotropic substances and further warned that anyone arrested with hard drugs would be prosecuted.

He expressed appreciation to the National Chairman of the agency Retired Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa for repositioning the organization

Ali Aminu commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for his support to the state command towards eradicating illicit drug abuse and trafficking.
