Office of the First Lady, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs, distributed food items to Christians in Bauchi State.

Speaking at the event, which was conducted at Government House Bauchi, the First Lady Dr. Aisha Bala Muhammad, emphasized the administration’s commitment to socio-economic development and improving the lives of women and the less privileged.

She noted that while the government may not provide enough for everyone, empowering women and supporting families remain a priority for the administration led by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad.

“The government has always prioritized women and the vulnerable by designing programs that aim to transform their lives. This initiative reflects our dedication to bridging the gap of marginalization and ensuring women are given opportunities to improve their lives and that of their children,” Dr. Aisha Bala Muhammad stated.

She also urged women in the state to remain vigilant and fulfill their responsibilities as mothers, safeguarding their children from negative influences in society.

In her address, the Commissioner of Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko, revealed that this year’s distribution benefitted 50 women’s groups, 30 churches, and 700 individuals.

Items distributed included 500 bags of rice, 500 bags of maize, 70 cartons of cooking oil, and 20 cows, ensuring a joyous celebration for Christmas and the New Year.

Religious leaders, including Reverend Masoyi and Pastor Yakubu, expressed gratitude to the state government and the First Lady for their inclusive leadership and generosity.
